Preparation of moonshine and alcohol for personal use
absolutely legal!

After the collapse of the USSR, the new government stopped the fight against moonshine. Criminal liability and fines were abolished, and the article banning the production of alcohol-containing products at home was removed from the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. To this day, there is not a single law that prohibits you and me from engaging in our favorite hobby - preparing alcohol at home. This is evidenced by the Federal Law of July 8, 1999 No. 143-FZ “On the administrative liability of legal entities (organizations) and individual entrepreneurs for offenses in the field of production and circulation of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products” (Collected Legislation of the Russian Federation, 1999, No. 28 , art. 3476).

Extract from the Federal Law of the Russian Federation:

“The effect of this Federal Law does not apply to the activities of citizens (individuals) producing products containing ethyl alcohol for purposes other than sale.”

Moonshining in other countries:

In Kazakhstan in accordance with the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses dated January 30, 2001 N 155, the following liability is provided. Thus, according to Article 335 “Manufacture and sale of home-made alcoholic beverages”, illegal production of moonshine, chacha, mulberry vodka, mash and other alcoholic beverages for the purpose of sale, as well as the sale of these alcoholic beverages, entails a fine in the amount of thirty monthly calculation indices with confiscation of alcoholic beverages , apparatus, raw materials and equipment for their manufacture, as well as money and other valuables received from their sale. However, the law does not prohibit the preparation of alcohol for personal use.

In Ukraine and Belarus things are different. Articles No. 176 and No. 177 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses provide for the imposition of fines in the amount of three to ten tax-free minimum wages for the production and storage of moonshine without the purpose of sale, for the storage of devices* for its production without the purpose of sale.

Article 12.43 repeats this information almost word for word. “Production or acquisition of strong alcoholic beverages (moonshine), semi-finished products for their production (mash), storage of apparatus for their production” in the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses. Clause No. 1 states: “The production by individuals of strong alcoholic drinks (moonshine), semi-finished products for their production (mash), as well as the storage of devices* used for their production, will entail a warning or a fine of up to five basic units with confiscation of the specified drinks, semi-finished products and devices."

*You can still purchase moonshine stills for home use, since their second purpose is to distill water and obtain components for natural cosmetics and perfumes.

Despite the fact that fresh apples are available on supermarket shelves all year round, in the summer it is worth thinking about making your own apple preparations for the winter. And all because canned apples from your own garden are, for obvious reasons, much healthier than fresh ones from abroad.

To maintain freshness and presentation, imported apples are treated with wax, formaldehyde and other special chemicals. Therefore, frequent consumption of such apples can seriously harm your health. It’s another thing to eat homemade apples made from your own grown and harvested apples.

As a preparation, you can cook delicious jam, jam, confiture or healthy compote.

Apple compote with mint

Apple compote with the addition of fresh mint will amaze with its deep, rich taste and pleasant aroma. The recipe is very simple and accessible, so it will be useful to any housewife.

Ingredients:

  • apples - 2 kg;
  • mint - 1-2 sprigs;
  • granulated sugar - 2 cups.

Preparation:

Before cooking, first of all, prepare the jars and lids. They need to be thoroughly washed with soda solution and steamed.

Now let's start preparing the apples. Rinse the fruits and dry thoroughly with a towel. Cut the apples into medium slices, discarding the core. It is not advisable to peel the peel, since without it the apples may simply fall apart, and the compote will take on a cloudy and unappetizing appearance. We also wash and dry the mint sprigs.

Fill each jar halfway with apple slices. Then we place a sprig of mint and fill the jars with the remaining apples to the very top.

Now put a saucepan of water on the stove and bring it to a boil. Fill the contents of the jars with boiling water and cover with lids. Let the apples sit for 40 minutes until the water has cooled completely.

Pour 2 cups of granulated sugar into the pan and carefully drain the water from the apples (a special lid with holes is sold for this). Place the saucepan on the fire and cook the sugar syrup.

Fill the container with apples with hot syrup, cover with sterile tin lids and roll up with a key for preservation. Place the jars on the lids, wrap them warmly, and leave them overnight. In the morning, we turn the jars back over and put them in a cellar or basement for storage.

Having opened a jar of this preparation in winter, you can enjoy an excellent refreshing compote and eat a couple of pieces of a delicious aromatic apple as a dessert. Bon appetit everyone!

Fruit compotes are the most affordable and simple drink that can be prepared in hot weather or stored away for the winter to enjoy later. And if earlier in Rus' all sorts of uzvars were cooked exclusively with dried fruits, the only available source of vitamins in winter, now we can prepare delicious compotes from fresh apples!

These fruits are good because they grow in summer, autumn and are in abundance on the shelves in winter, so you can brew such a refreshing drink in any weather. Apples are boiled solo very rarely, preferring to be combined with other fruits or berries. But if you love them so much that you don’t want to spoil the unique taste, you can easily enhance it with mint or cinnamon.

Important: If you use ground spice for cooking, you will end up with an unpleasant residue at the bottom of the jar. To avoid this, either strain the finished compote through cheesecloth, or use cinnamon sticks.

Apples and cinnamon are the perfect winter combination, and a jar of this delicious treat will be a joy to open during the Christmas holidays.

    The apples must be thoroughly sorted, all stems, tails and leaves removed. Rinse the fruit under running water, then cut it, including the skin, into small pieces.

    We put the water in the pan on the fire, add the apples and cook from boiling for about 20 minutes.

    Then add sugar; many people prefer to use brown sugar. If you are on a diet, you can take sweeteners or even honey.

    Cook until the fruit is completely softened for about a quarter of an hour.

    Add cinnamon sticks, mint and boil for 5 minutes. Leave the compote for 10-20 minutes so that it cools a little, then strain and drink. But if you decide to close it for the winter, you need to add a pinch of citric acid to the still hot compote.

    We thoroughly wash the jars with soda, then sterilize or boil them together with the lids. Pour the hot compote into containers, or directly with apples, and roll it up. After cooling, the jars need to be taken to the cellar.

    Advice: many people like to drink compotes with mint, but when it is not possible to use fresh, you can safely take dried.

    If the color of apple compote seems too dull for you, try adding chokeberries or currants. These berries are capable of giving a noble shade and taste. Apple compote with cinnamon is the most popular summer drink, which is often reserved for the winter by responsible housewives. And if earlier uzvars were cooked only because in the cold there was no other source of vitamins, now fruit compotes are an amazing addition to the diet when you want something tasty.
